East Coast Walk

Dan, Weilin and I brought Vodka and QC to East Coast Park for a suuuper long walk today. A 4-hour walk to be exact. From one end of East Coast to almost the other end whilst dragging along 2 dogs definitely isn't easy. It got to a point where we had to coax QC to carry on walking back to the car park, and at one point, even carry her. But we were all proud of her when she managed to walk on till the car! Here's to more long walks! Cheers!

Climbing and Ratatouille

Climbed at Climb Adventure today after a rather long hiatus. Didn't manage to climb much before feeling the rumble in the tummy, as usual. Went for my fav fix of beef kway teow before we headed back for another round of climbing. Was short for me, but was uber impressed by Suf's cousin from Philippines who managed to complete the overhang on her first day at climbing! A tad jealous also lah, cos I haven't tried it yet. Hehe...

Anyways, had to dash off to JP to watch Ratatouille with Dan. It was a super nice show - the graphics were superb. Can't believe how detailed animation has become. The hair on the rats and the humans, the food looked so real. Everything looked so nice and real, especially when Remy got wet and was running around in the kitchen, the fur looked totally like that of a wet rat (or rather, I compared it to a wet hamster). Even these small details were perfected. *kowtow in admiration* Plus, I think they managed to get the movements of a rat down pat. Enjoyed the show very much, although it was nearly spoilt by the 'confiscation' of our snacks purchased from NTUC that we wanted to smuggle in. Hehe... had to collect them from one of the staff at the end of the movie - so paiseh...

Met up with Derence at Xu Yong's place where we managed to play with Vodka and Max (whom Derence brought along to socialise with Vodka). Dinner was on Derence (thanks!) and we had our usual, the $4.80 zhi char food at 155. Cheap but good - esp the thai fried chicken. Yummy!

Shopping at Ikea!

Went shopping at Ikea with our designer, Adeline, and Saiful. Bought bathroom accessories...spent a total of $199.85... and here's what I got...

And some other accessories like a multi-purpose hanger, a door hanger, a light fixture, a chopping board... I think that's mostly it actually.

Shopping for the new house is tiring... and expensive... *sigh* Lots more things to get still, lots more money to spend yet.

Shauna Simon and I?

My bro, my mom, and Saiful have told me that I look like Shauna Simon... I dunno... you tell me...

Space - Female Of The Species

Dunno ifany of you remember or know of this song... but I love it! Remember hearing it as a primary school kid... hehe... brings back so many memories...

Rottweiler and Daschund

Here's pics of a daschund and rottweiler seperately... note the contrast in the size! I'm still amazed as to how they manage to create such a weird mix...
Here's a daschund...

Here's a rottweiler...

And here's a rottweiler sniffing a daschund... check out the difference in size!

Rottweiler/Daschund Mix

Wow, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this picture... I have totally no idea how they did it, but here it is, the rottweiler/daschund mix that my friend, Sarah owns... amazing!

Vodka's Out of the Boarding Home!

I'm glad to announce that Vodka's finally out of the boarding home! After 1 month's residence (a very costly stay, might I add), Vodka has finally left the confines of the cage and the small backyard of the boarding location and has moved in to my friend's place as of today.

Although he may miss the company of the pet store's 3 bull dogs, but at least he gets more space to live in now and he'll get frequent walks. Super grateful to Xu Yong and his wife for agreeing to house him for the remaining month till our place is ready. By the way, Xu Yong's terrified of dogs. He reasons that he'll enter his house with a metal gate to fend of the 'ferocious' Vodka (ferocious licker, perhaps).

Darling Vodka's much stockier and a bit bulky, which isn't necessarily bad cos he's finally looking more muscular than lanky. And I finally got to hug him again today! I miss that furry bundle. Hehe... though I did get my clothes to stink of dog after that, cos apparently he hasn't had a shower in a while. Eeeks!

While on the subject of pets, I've noticed that my hamsters have become abnormally problematic. I have 3 cages with 5 hamsters - one houses Fluffy and Tres (who is a three-legged hammy having lost his left front leg as a baby), Baby (who injured her hind foot with a serious sprain - her foot points in the opposite direction now) and Ziggy and Stitch (who has an abnormally large lump originating from his mouth). Me and my entourage of freak hamsters. Ta-da!

Quotations & More Quotations

Been going through quotations for the reno... got a favourite one in terms of design ideas and all... but I guess the price isn't working too well for us. So we do what all Singaporeans were born to do - bargain! Cut off a few items as well in hopes of getting a less astounding figure. *crosses fingers and hopes for a miracle*

Paint and more paint!

Am up blogging at 1am cos I've been unable to sleep due to an incessant coughing episode... yes, I could blame it on a certain stupid-thingy in NIE, or even my hubby, or it could just be that I've inhale too much paint today.

Yes, my hubby and I embarked on an almost impossible task today - 2 people to paint a 4-room flat. And the walls are of stone-finishing, so it's not smooth, and definitely not easy to paint, mind you. Was cursing at the wall with each forceful yet unsuccessful stroke of paint. And after almost 10 hours of hard work, with some help from a great friend (thanks Xu Yong!) we managed to complete the master bedroom (complete with my perfectionist touch) and 80% of the living room, plus a first coat for the other 2 rooms. The walls are coated with Lily white, which is a fancy way of describing white with a tinge of yellow. Anyways, after all that hard work... we decided, with the financial aid of my dear mother-in-law, to fully renovate the house. Which means, all that hard work, all that paint, meant zilch, since we're redoing the place and getting rid of the ghastly stone-finishing on the walls.

So... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Yes, I'm estatic to be getting a better looking home, complete with a new kitchen and bathrooms, and smooth walls at last, but it rather saddens me to see how our hard work has been rather unnecessary. And, this cough was all for nothing.

Excited about what we'll be doing... I have no idea yet, but I think my mom-in-law has plently... so we shall see what happens then.

Money Matters

Everything requires money... yes, we live in a highly materialistic world. Spent a bomb this month, what with the house, and a little 'investment' (which caused me a heartache and headaches, but hopefully it'll be worth it). A lot more to chalk up for the house. The biggest wham-bam? No pay for 2 years! Ahhh!

On another note... Happy Birthday (in another half an hour) my dearest hubby! Our first birthday as a married couple. Hehe... no big celebrations, so sorry bb... I LOVE YOU!
