mendaki

Been experiencing teaching for the first time. Tuition for primary school kids is rather fun, but tiring as well. Especially since they aren't really keen to pay attention after an entire day in sch already. Super difficult to controlthe class, although it was a very small group of students. Wondering how I will handle my own class in the future. Which once again leads me to wonder which is better for me - primary or secondary track? Argh! What a troublesome question that I can't answer yet. I guess I'll have to ask a lot of questions during my observation next week and the week after at the 2 schools, and make up my mind then cos that will be the only chance I'll get. So scary!

I went in and tried to be friendly to them, smiling and joking with them. But I guess teachers need to maintain their position cos otherwise, the kids will just climb all over you. However, I don't wanna appear too fierce, so much so that they are afraid to approach me. But then again, I don't think I can exude such fiery. Hah! Well, they did take advantage of my friendliness and didn't really listen to me or to what I was trying to teach them. Had to find ways during the lesson to draw their attention, and it is not easy at all. Suddenly I have a new-found respect for my teachers back in school. Lost my cool twice when I had to slam a magnetic ruler against the white board once to get their attention, and then again a light knock on the door to gather them outside.

Haiz... decisions, decisions... why are there so many things to decide on recently? Headache lah...

k!

Been preparing for 8 July... busy with getting the logistics down and preparing for all the stuff... still quite some time till I get everything done, but there's still about 2 weeks' time... so yeah...

Went singing at this new k place called 10 dollar KTV... and the price is really $10... ++... came up to $11.80 per pax, free flow drinks!! The songs are also quite updated, so I really recommend that place, except that there's this maniac screaming out songs on the second floor of the KTV, making a trip to the loo rather painful on the ears. The room's also rather small, but otherwise, the price and songs are great!! Guess will be going singing again soon... wait a min, I think I'm actually going tmr! Haha!!!

shrek 3

Climbing on Monday was... well, super tiring... had no grip whatsoever and tried out 2 horribly difficult routes and wasn't able to complete them. Oh wells... Rosenna and Michelle came along as well, and Saiful and his pal, Ridzal (I think that's how it's spelt).

Went for KTV session after, and we all went nuts. Of course, it began with a not pissed enough Saiful singing "Baby, One More Time". Then it ended up with 3 of us (Ridzal didn't join us, and Mich left by about 6pm) screaming in the room, and it was then that I suspected that our drinks were spiked. Cos we were out of our minds! Screaming till we left with sore throats... but nevertheless, it was great fun. Gotta go for another round of screaming frenzy again, ya guys? Haha...

Met up with dearie Laura who's back from Melb for the hols. Chris, Bronzee, Yan, Yong Ping, Adeline, Laura and myself settled for dinner at my least fav Carls' Jr outlet at Marina Sq. Had a load of salsa yet again... hehe... then off we went for the movie, Shrek 3, which was really quite a bore. It's my third sequel for the year (Spiderman 3, Pirates OTC 3, Shrek 3). Think I'm going to agree that sequels usually don't match up to their expectations, and definitely do not do the first movie justice. Except for Spidey 3 which was still rather bearable, 'cept for some boring bits in the mid.

Well, next outing shld be bringing Vodka to meet Laura. She's been rather keen to meet her, and then the meeting of all the canines - Kevin's 2 retrievers and maybe Ping's new Border Collie pup and his Yorkie, Praise, and of course, our dear Vodka! Rule of the Canines!

abs buns and thighs

Went for my first lesson of Abs Buns and Thighs today! And the name totally suits and describes the course very well... can totally feel it all in those 3 areas. Plus, my aching arms and shoulders aren't aiding.

The instructor is really great - super enthusiastic and really a great motivator. The class size's pretty small, and this being the first time I've ever taken an aerobics class, or any exercise course, I must say that it is really rather interesting. Plus, I've realized how horrible my coordination is. Took me a while to get in tune with the moves and to get over the initial difficulty in getting started. And I guess I'll never make a good dancer, what with my stiff movements.

Well, off to watch my most dreaded type of movie... horror shows!!! All thanks to Dan... AAaaAAAhhHHhhHHH!

climbing~~!!

Climb Adventure finally reopened at Clementi Recreation Centre! Finally, after having anticipated its opening for soooooo long! Climbing at Yishun Safra just doesn't do it for me... no air-con, no great music, no clearly marked out routes that are challenging... I still think it best to go back to where it all started - cos Climb Adventure is where I first met Saiful (my fav climbing pal, together with Sufian) and first started climbing... just love the environment there, and the great rates there as well, of course. I LOVE CLIMB ADVENTURE!!!

Saiful and I were there with Hafizah and Haliah, first-timers at the joint. Found out that I taught them a few wrong things... guess I needed the refresher course from my master - Saiful. Haha! It was fun seeing them climbing, and we were so amused by Haliah when she made, erm, very interesting sounds whilst trying to ascend one of the tougher walls. *wink*

Went for a truly satisfying lunch of beef kway tiao (one of my fav stalls), then went for my much-needed eyebrow threading. The lady there is super fast, and for once, there was no queue. How fast was she? Saiful went for a smoke whilst I went in, and I came out the same time he finished his ciggy! Woo, what experienced hands. I find myself constantly amazed by her speed and skills.

Dropped by Saiful's uncle's house, watching Everest. Such an amazing feat! Why people would sacrifice their lives to try and scale such a dangerous mountain is beyond my understanding. Is it for novelty? For self-achievement? Some people just have such great ambitions. Am really envious of their bravery and capability. It must really take guts to go up there, and stick through the plan, enduring all the physical and emotional pain to get what they want. That, is true perseverance.

Went back climbing after that, and am glad to say that I managed to complete 4 routes, successfully repeating one route whilst unsuccessful at my second attempt at another route. Guess it's good esp since I haven't climbed in quite a while. I wanna go climbing again soon! Can say that we completed 2 super tough routes today (at least they seemed tough to me)! Yoohoo!

Dinner was satisfied by a rather delish fish & chips (from the coffeeshop behind Mac). The batter was really good, and the fries were super crispy as well. A tad bit expensive though, at $6.

Now, I can feel my arms and hands and legs aching from the tough but super enjoyable workout today. I like feeling aching muscles, cos it makes me feel as if I really worked those muscles and can feel satisfied at that. I'm looking forward to aching muscles again tmr, when I go for my Abs, Buns and Thighs class, and of course, when I next go climbing!

cosy home

Thanks Xu Yong for inviting us into your new home... it's super cosy and a wonderful place... it's a warm and loving place, somewhere where u can imagine kids running around, filling the place with laughter.

It gives me lots of hope to see how great u two are doing. Bb, I have no doubt that we can do it too. It'll be tough, like you mentioned. But I'm willing to work hard and strive for the best. In three years' time, I want us to be living in a comfortable, cosy and beautiful home that belongs to just you and me (and of cos Vodka). We'll make ends meet ok? Let's do everything we can to make it work...

Cheers to the future darling ~ Meanwhile, we'll live in the present, making the most out of everything now...

No fear No surprises No hesitation No doubts

worry wart

Too much salsa makes one sick... Or rather, it made me poop a lot... thrice within 4 hours, to be exact...

On another note, I'm not a worry wart. I just want to be prepared and be able to avert crisis rather than waiting for it to happen. Why not prevent it rather than wait for it to happen and see how we get through it? I believe that the responsible and logical thing would be to plan ahead and ensure that everything follows your plan to ensure that things go smoothly. In fact, I dunno how someone can go on without planning, thinking that things will eventually work out. It's not that I want to worry, but I just want to be prepared. You can't seem to understand where I'm coming from and I'm frustrated at that. This is not how I imagined it to be, but you were so adamant, so persuasive, I had to agree. You assured me that everything would be fine, and I believed so then. But now I wonder whether we got everything right and know what it entails. I'm starting to worry how it'll all go. I need solid plans, not just faith in how things will eventually work out. I need a plan to understand how things will go according to plan, to know how we can make it work. You know me, I dun like all talk and no action. I want to be able to see the outcome of the plan, and see that it will work and help us get through it all. I don't want to push you to feel committed or trapped, but that's just how I function, and I need your help in doing so. You don't seem to see that, and I am really at a loss as to what we are to do. Hope you understand. Through my desperation and despair, I still love you more than ever and am looking forward to our life together; I just need to know how we can make it work, that's all.
