tagged

As tagged by Laura, I have to carry on with the game now... A pretty good distraction for the unfortunate loss we've recently encountered. It was really good knowing him, though it was a brief encounter...

Rules of the game:Each player of this game starts off with ten weird things or habits or little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own ten weird things or habits or little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you must choose six people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks!

1. I LOVE Desperate Housewives... and I have to watch it religiously every Monday. Even if I'm out, I tape the show to relish in it another time. Ah, the genius creation of the VCR. Yes, I am still stuck in that era where tapes rule the world. This applies to other shows which I am glued to for the moment.

2. I have the habit of tapping my big toe. It's something I didn't know till my friend told me abt it one day. So yes, it's a subconscious behaviour.

3. I have a comfort pillow... one of those which u have since a baby and were inseperable with it for years... yes, I still have mine, though it is a substitute now cos my mom threw the old one again... enjoying the company of my 'smelly' version 2.

4. I hate being told to do housework, but I will willingly do them when not told to and when I am very free. Like today. No one was home and I spent half the day washing up stuff from the camp.

5. I used to be a clean-freak. I couldn't stand touching pictures of bugs and such creepy crawlies without having to wash my hands immediately after that, as if I were touching the real thing. But after the camp, where we didn't get to bathe for 3 days and where we had to eat with filthy hands muddied from grabbing the trees and soil whilst trekking through the forest, I think I'm cured of this.

6. I don't eat beansprouts, cucumber, mussels, clams and other similar species, bittergourd, bitter herbal stuff, and some more...

7. I love karaoke! Sing mostly mandarin songs cos usually go with friends who do likewise.

8. I keep a dairy... no, not this blog, but one of those prehistoric ones - the pen and paper method. But since I have a blog, the diary is only for certain events and thoughts that occur which I do not wish to divulge to others.

9. I can't cook. The only stuff I can whip up are instant food, eggs, pasta (with bottled sauce), chocolate chip cookies. I think that's about it.

10. I hate watching horror movies. Why waste money on a show to scare yourself, fuelling your imagination, resulting in loss of sleep?

Ok, I'm done, finally... so here's where I tag 6 other people to do what I've just done...

1. Danny
2. Rosenna
3. Eileen
4. Vodka
5. Xuemin
6. Sonia

gone!

What the...?? I just realised my posting on the dog wedding... all the pics which took me forever to post, are gone! Argh... pissed pissed...

On a happier note, went OTT shopping the past few days... troubled over 4 birthday presents which I had to get but glad to say that that's over cos got all of them but one, which I'm sharing with someone else, and I of course, being all shopped-out for presents, asked the kind soul to assist in seeking for the present instead. :)

Just a summary of what I've bought recently, minus the presents (which actually add up to almost $100):

- sunglasses for Dan (his super advanced birthday present - which is worth mentioning cos it costs more than $300 bucks!)
- 3 pairs of track pants (2 for the camp - from Mustafa - brandless at $15.50 and Reebok at $28.90) and ond bought at a steal - Puma at $12 from Lucky Plaza!
- An Adidas climacool shirt (white with orange stripes) ($26)
- a pair of Columbia trekking boots ($72) - for the camp and since Saiful mentioned that it is a good buy, I decided to get them in hopes of more camps to come
- a pair of sneakers/court shoes ($20)
- a pair of denim 3/4 ($25)
- a water bladder (Nalgene 3L - $30)
- necessities for the camp (poncho, snake powder, insect repellant, facial cleansing wipes)

I feel like I'm in Bangkok! Haha!

proposal

Dan proposed to me today. It was supposed to be a normal annual trip to the zoo, something we always did on 1 May since our first year together. His colleagues from work decided to join him and the trip resembled a company trip. It seemed like that, and I had NO idea what he had planned to do, although everyone else there were in the loop.

He bought this tub of Ben and Jerry's ice-cream, something that I love to eat... but he passed it to Gina and asked her to pretend that its hers. When we went into the zoo, Dan asked me whether I wanted any ice-cream and somehow, I sensed something was up, like he was going to play a prank on me or something like that, cos he loves doing that. Thinking that something was up his sleeves, I decided to not take the ice-cream. According to them, he was panicking when I rejected the ice-cream.

I think he then decided to directly ask me, and he got down on his knees in front of everyone and held the ice-cream in front of me, and sitting in the ice-cream was a diamond ring. I think I froze there and I don't really remember what I did but I do remember thinking that it was a prank cos the ring looked like a plastic ring in the ice-cream due to the frosting of the diamond in the cold. Then I took out and ring and realised that it was for real! Was really surprised and stunned then... he popped the question and I think I stoned for a while before replying yes.

Had a great day at the zoo, of course. I'm officially engaged!

Thanks hubby for the lovely proposal... it was so sweet! I look forward to our life together and I'm sure it will be full of fun, laughter, love, and care. I love you, darling...

Putting on the ring for me after his proposal... that's the Ben n Jerry's ice-creamtub that he hid the ring in...

Trying to show off the ring in this picture...

A kiss from my hubby!

Here's the ring... actually, bought it on our anniversary this year, at AMK Hub Lee Hwa. He was afraid I wouldn't like the ring so we bought it togerher instead, so that I would like it and it would fit me.
