Research = big bucks!

Went for a focus group session today... it surprises me how companies are willing to fork out an immense amount of money for research, and provide well-fare for their subjects as well. All to get feedback from the public to further improve their product or service. Not that I'm complaining - I love being a subject. It was fun - much like a discussion group where all of us just had a nice chat about the topic at hand. And soon enough, time flew by and before we knew it, it was time to go. Could feel that we had so much more to say, and we were enjoying ourselves a little too much. But I guess that's good for the company, cos they managed to get a lot out of us. Hey, they pay us a good amount of money, they get good quality research out of us - that's fair trade.

Been seeing a lot of humongous houses in Singapore recently. The gigantic houses (3 to 4 storeys high), with a huge back yard and front yard, a pool, even a tennis court. I wonder what all these people work as, and how they managed to get to where they are. And I envy the lucky buggers who are born into such luxury. I look at the little kid at the window of the house and think "You are one lucky SOB, you know? But then again, you prob won't even appreciate it." I guess none of us will appreciate what we have, be it big or small, until we lose it. When it smacks us in the face, and grabs us, shakes us, before yelling into our face: "Hey! Pay attention! I'm leaving! Good riddance, you arse!"

On another note, I've realised that various friends have been admitted into hospitals this month, way too much for comfort, really. First it's Derence's brother, then Charmaine, then Wei Xian, then now it's Wendy. Now I know why they say that the medical business is thriving in Singapore. There's actually way more, if I consider the other times I've been in the hospitals this year. I've been to most this year, where I've only been to one or two previously. Dan was in for appendicitis, Mom was in KK, Dan's Ah Ma was in. Really, it's way more than I am comfortable with. Hope there won't be any more any time soon.

On a less solemn note, Dan and I are getting the keys to our new home this Wednesday! Can't wait to get the place spruced up and move in. Finally, we'll be on our way to living together, with Vodka! I miss him so much! Went to JP today and saw a super adorable Husky-GRT mix puppy... black with white/silver markings, and dark green eyes. Body shaped like a retriever, eyes of a husky, marking of a husky, face of a GRT. I could see Vodka's face when I was looking into the puppy's and it was like gazing into Vodka's eyes when I gazed into his. Never miss something till it's gone... and I'm sure I speak for Dan when I say this... we really miss Vodka.

Packing and Moving... School and all that jazz...

Haven't updated in a while... yes, partly due to sch reopening, but previously I've been really busy with helping the in-laws move to their new abode. Good practice for when my turn arrives, I think. Also, managed to bag a new wardrobe full of clothes from my mom-in-law. And she's a hip mommy, so her clothes are actually rather nice, and she's about the same size as me. Yes, we are talking about Dan's mom her, although I have no idea how old she is exactly.

School has been fun so far - taking basketball and netball lessons at the mo - a great opportunity for me to develop my ball sense. Have been playing bball for a while in the past and have never done anything so basic during all the trainings, so I think an enforcement on the basics would be really good for someone like me. Am thinking of joining Weite's team in the women's open... but dunno if he'll welcome me, and more importantly, whether his team will welcome me. I no none of his players, and they are much younger than myself, so that may be a prob. Plus, Weite's out with a torn calf muscle, so it'll be a while till he gets back into the action of things.

Vodka's staying at a boarding home now. Actually, it's at a pet shop but he gets to come out and run with the owner's dogs. It's really sad when we visit him, although we feel more at ease seeing him sometimes. He howls and cries for us once we enter. He paws at the cage, begging for us to release him and bring him home. Makes me feel super sad... cos it feels as if he thinks we've disowned him. But of course, that's not it - we'll be bringing u home soon, Vodky... hang on in there...

Had the best pepper crab I've ever had as well. It's at this discrete old coffee shop in Joo Chiat, I think. It's called First Grade Seafood Palace, or something close to that. The pepper sauce is really nice! Plus, you know a place is really good when there's people there at 4pm eating crabs. Dinner or lunch, I have no idea. Perhaps just a very filling tea. Anyways, the place was crowded with people queueing up outside the coffeeshop at 5 plus. And the best of all, the crates (and I mean more than 10 of those big styrofoam boxes u see in fish markets) worth of crabs are sold out before 8pm. There's also a whole factory of people behind the scenes killing and cooking the crabs. When u head to the back to wash your hands, you'll be greeted with the sight of about 5 people chopping up almost hundred crabs, and you'll find yourself facing the chefs who are constantly cooking their famous black pepper crab. Give it a try if u ever come across it.

Kitty cats and scaling walls

The loner ah ma, Mao Mao.

Little Ms Attitude, Buttress.

The alpha of the house of cats, Tyran.

Super shy and cautious pretty-face, Maya.

White and shy Hammy.

White-tux buddy, Scruffy.

The one with the pretty face and emerald sparkling green eyes, Rory. I didn't use to believe them when they say that you can see the ocean in a cat's eyes. But now I'm a believer.

Climbing with Saiful at Climb Adventure. Managed 6 routes each (one super tough one for him, yay!) Was super fun climbing again yeah? Here's one of me with my pouffy hair... *the fairy with pouffy hair goes... pouff!*
