My beloved Puma bag!!!

S'pore Science Centre

Haven't been to the Singapore Science Centre since, I was in Sec 4 I think... haha... that wld prob be half a decade ago? Well, anyways, went there today with a very excitable Jaymond, who was running around screaming for us whenever he saw something interesting, hammering hard on the buttons of the exhibits and displays.

It's been a tiring day, but managed to see some interesting exhibits at both the Science Centre and the Dinosaur exhibition. Also went to watch T-rex at the Omni-theatre... Wasn't that good of a show though. Too few dinosaurs, too much talking and humans. But the ones with the dinos were good though, with close-ups of the dinos, esp their great big jaws.

Whew, had a loong and tiring day today, but it was fun after all. My cousin from Malacca's coming to S'pore tmr, so it'll be a day of shopping with her tmr. Hehe...

Speaking of shopping, went shopping with Danny yesterday and Danny actually bought me the bag that I looooove so much!! Yes, the Puma bag! It's actually still there when I went there yesterday and Danny bought it for me! So happy... haha... Actually saw the bag in the Puma shop in Taka after that, but it was selling at $89... no discount. So I guess it was lucky that I managed to see it in Heeren before in Puma... Ahahaha! Going to bring it out for the first time tmr... hehe... so excited!

no money no buys...

Window shopping with no money, thus no buys, sucks. When you see something you really like and have to control yourself from buying it, that really sucks. Why can't my parents be tycoons so I can spend money and buy everything I want without having to consider?

Went shopping with Saiful today after a depressing and lazy session of rock climbing. Before that, had a pick-me-up at Carl's Junior. I had their Beef Chilli Cheese Fries (beginning to LOVE it cos it reminds me soooo much of Taco Bell's amazing cheese fries! Oh, the memories...) while Saiful had the onion rings. Try it the next time you're at Carl's Junior. Have it with the condiments... mix the salsa sauce and the chunky condiment with the tomato and what not... not sure what that is but the salsa sauce with the chunky bits taste fantabulous!

Went Heeren after that, so that Saiful could check out this pair of Adidas boots that he's been meaning to get. Oh, and he got those great Portugal Nike sneakers... So bloody nice!

It has been a day of painful heartache. Saw so many many many nice things that I can't buy cos I'm trying to save up and not spend unnecessarily. It's an especially tough time window shopping and be down on cash during the GSS, and especially when I see great things that I love.

Firstly, saw this nice big bag from Flash & Splash... a Roxy bag I think. It's black with pink embroided 'Roxy' on it. It looks nice, and it'll be a great bag for me if I get into NIE PESS. Great for all the sports gear, while I still look great with a beautiful bag. Price: $49.90 (This is one which I don't feel passionately about and can do without, but I think it's quite worth it, since it looks great and has great functionality too. But it'll have to wait... wait till I get my letter and know the results of my physical test.)

I've been meaning to buy a pair of flats. No longer will I buy cheap and uncomfortable shoes. I'm looking for a pair that can match almost everything I have. Never under-estimate the power of a nice pair of comfy shoes. Went to URS and there were a couple of nice choices, but nothing amazing that I really hate myself for not buying. (However, something I see later in the night does get me feeling like that... leaving my heart aching... literally.)

Then there was this vintage belt - though it irks me that it's made of croc skin, being the animal lover that I am, it really looks amazing. It's a black croc leather belt, thick and v-shaped when you wear it. It'll be perfect to wear with a dress, or just a long top and jeans. Ah... Price: $59

Went on to shop somemore, and saw this amazing amazing amazing Puma bag that I just ADORE!!! It's white and red, a worn leather sling bag. The design is sooooooooo beautiful, I fell deeply in love for it! It's soooo pretty, and I love how vintage it looks, plus it'll go amazingly well with most of my clothes! Ah!!! But then, reality kicked in as I turned over the tag to look at the price of the bag. Price: $89 Discount: 20% For the benefit of you guys, I've done the math. Final Price: $71.20 This is for a bag that is quite small, but looks amazing, has great compartments inside to keep everything organised (something which I love in a bag). Had to contemplate over it and I did so, for quite some time, in the shop. But I decided for my own benefit, I'd better not splurge on something that expensive, esp after my splurge earlier this month on my Adidas Germany jacket. Haiz... the heartache. Worse still, the sales person told us that it's the first day it's been on sale. So few people have seen it on discount at that time. My heart sank when I had to leave without it, knowing that the bag will be gone tomorrow, purchased by someone who loves that amazing bag as much as, if not more, than I do. Haiz...

As I left that shop with a heavy heart, I went on window shopping. Saw this nice dress at 77th Street. Yes, of all places, the shop where I worshipped as a secondary student and have come to diss as too childish for a grown woman. But this dress was really nice. Had great colours - turquoise, brown, green, blue and mainly white. It's a really girly dress which was really pretty and would look amazing on a petite frame. Price: $99

Next stop, looked at bags and clothes and saw this kinda nice bag. It's designed a bit like an Adidas bag, but the colours were nice - brown, white and black. It would go well with anything, with a colour combi like that; something which I've been looking for. But not over-the-top excited over it. Still trying to recover from my heartpain over the 'loss' of the Puma bag, you see. Price: $39.90

Finally, stopped by a watch shop and spent almost 20 minutes there looking at the beauties there. Love a few that I saw - A Titus metal watch with white face, a black bangle-styled Espirit watch with diamante in place of the hands of the watch, a white Baby G with white straps and white/silver digital face. The Titus watch was on 60% discount. Really thinking whether I should get it, since it's on such a big discount. But among the 3 I like, it's the one I like the least, actually. Price: $225 Discount: 60% Final Price: $90 The Baby G was $100 over... $179, I think. No discount though. The Espirit watch was about the same price too, no discount. Haiz... the comtemplation, the heartache, the temptation. All that nearly killed me.

Despite that, I had a great time with Saiful. He'll definitely make a good boyfriend to a girl who loves shopping, cos he loves shopping too! And he'll give you opinions and will try out stuff willingly and often, which makes it much more fun. Plus, his quirky ideas and infectious giggles make him an even greater companion. Haha...

Ok, here's the estimated great sum, presuming I was a tycoon's offspring and bought everything I saw and wanted to get today. Grand Total: $767 (woah!)

pics from malacca

Check out our pics from the Malacca trip in 'pics'!

going overseas... everyone but me...

Seems like everyone's going overseas... everyone except me, that is...

Sure, I just came back from Malacca, but still, it's nothing like a trip to Hong Kong or Bangkok! Haiz... Danny's leaving for Hong Kong today, an impulse trip with his mom and sister. Kinda crazy but fun I guess. Pack up and leave when you want to. I'd love to be able to do that. Financially, I can't afford to though, so I'm stuck here instead. Haiz...

Well, Dan's friend from Canada, Kozen, came visiting last week or so, and we had a great time with him. Went KTV twice in a week, something I've never done before till last week. Haha... So yeah, now Kozen's in Hong Kong and Danny's going over to find him.

Haiz... feeling so depressed now... if only I can live my own jet-setting life. The first place I'd love to schedule for my flight plan would be Paris. Just watched The Da Vinci Code yesterday. The Louvre looks so amazing in the movie, and the idea of being in the building that houses so many ancient and priceless art work is really enticing. But to have enough funds to make a trip to Europe, whoah, that's gonna take a looooong time. Dream on, I guess... dream on for now.

malacca

Back from Malacca on Monday and even though the living conditions weren't what we expected, it was still an enjoyable trip.

Went there with Tong Whye cos they were playing in Malacca with the M'sian teams there. Saw a couple of really good teams and players, both guys and gals. There's a team there, called "da dong fang" which is like, the best team in M'sia with about 6 or 8 national players, I think. Both their guy and gal teams are wonderful. Saw a lot of amazing bball there. Tong Whye lost 2 out of 3 matches though. Managed to see Home United play, both the guys and gals. They managed to put up a good fight, especially the guys' team.

Besides watching matches over there, we also went for a bit of shopping and ate most of the other times. Ate in restaurants and also had some lok-lok which is like dipping sticks of food into this satay sauce. Quite interesting but didn't really make up a good meal for me, though they had gigantic prawns for only 50sens.

The living conditions were quite bad... we stayed in this 'resort' where 3 couples shared an apartment with 3 rooms, a living room and a kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. The apartment is really old and looks worn out, especially with its faulty air-con with missing 'teeth' in one of the rooms, another one with a fan and no air con, leaving only 1 room with a working air con. So in the end, the 6 of us all shared the same room, pulling all the mattresses from the other rooms into one. Dan and I shared the apartment with Donald, Mag, Wei Tai and Ming Ying. It was fun sharing the room with them, a lot of crap and jokes all round.

Well, that's about all for the Malacca trip. Managed to buy a couple of things, watched some amazing bball, had some good food here and there... well, that's about it... haha...

vodka and buffet

Frisky little pup, also at 6 weeks... So darned adorable with the droopy sad puppy eyes. Meet Vodka, Elmer's male husky pup. The first time I saw him, he looked so sad and frail. Perhaps he was still a tad upset about leaving his siblings back at the breeder's place then. The only thing going in my head when I had to dogsit for the afternoon was "How can so much poop and pee come out from such a tiny thing?" It was tedious, trying to catch poop before it fell and wipe up pee whilst preventing the pup from stepping in its own defecates.

However, when I went over to see him again yesterday, he was a frisky little thing running and sliding on the smooth flooring, banging his head on the floor a couple of times when he slipped and fell. Poor darling, but so adorable! He kept trying to eat fallen leaves from the balcony and nibble on wires, but soon stopped that when Dan gave him a stern slap on the butt. When we got tired of running around after him, Dan picked him up and placed him back in the kitchen as we continued to view the movie we were watching. Suddenly, we heard wailing and whinning. Initially, we thought it was from the movie, then Dan asked me if I heard that and whether it was from the movie or from Vodka. Somehow it seemed to be coming from a distance and didn't seem to come from the movie, so Dan went and let the poor bugger out, who pretty soon settled comfortably next to Dan obediently.

I was watching the movie, lying on the sofa, when suddenly Vodka walked off from Dan's lap and moved towards me. He climbed to my face and stared at me, before proceeding to lick me. Hehe... I felt like kissing him then cos he was soooo adorable! Ah!

Elmer finally woke up and was having lunch on the table and Vodka started yelping, perhaps begging for some scraps. He tried jumping on the table too, but got a stern warning from Elmer instead. So Vodka walked in front of Elmer and propped himself up on the table, staring at him with his sad puppy eyes once again. It was so adorable and funny!

We later moved on into Elmer's room to play some cards and Vodka was prancing up and down trying to bite the cards. When we were done, Dan tried to nap whilst Vodka cuddled comfortably onto his leg on the comforter.A pampered pup leading the good life. Gee...

Had to leave for buffet dinner at United Square after that. The soup was great! It's Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, and I had 4 in total! The sweet soup was just too tantalising to resist. Also had some prawns and crabs, vege, beef and drunken chicken, as well as test tube fruit juices, and some desserts. Yummy yummy buffet, but got bored of the same food after a while and drank my bowls after bowls of soups instead. Hehe...

Going to Malacca on Friday! Can't wait... it's yet another foray into another counrty, my favourite... even though it is only M'sia, I'm still excited nonetheless cos I haven't been to Malacca in a while, and if I remember it correctly, there'll be lots of great food there, so yeah, all pumped up for that!

hamsters!!

Both wonderful darlings, born on the same day, came home with me on the same day, living under the same roof as me.

I just fell in love instantly, the moment I set eyes on them. My babies... my pretty, lovely, wonderful babies. The warmth in my heart when I held them close to me, as I watched their pretty faces staring back up at me, their warm bodies held closely to me. Their gorgeous black eyes, innocent and so brilliant, just make them look so much more adorable. Ah, my 2 new additions to the family.

Have yet to take a picture of the 2 of them, but they are currently sound asleep, huddled together in a warm bunch. Please welcome the merely 6-week-old babies sapphire and winter dwarf hamsters, Baby and Hammy!

Bought them back from Farm Mart... supposed to go there just to take a look at the animals there. But when we saw these cuties, merely 6 weeks old, and so adorable and loving, Dan and I knew we had to get them. So Dan paid the cash and I chose the 2 most beautiful babies of the pack, who also happened to be the 2 that didn't bite me, as much as the rest took a liking to my fingers.

That shop had a couple of cute baby bunnies as well, and a rare parrot baby going for a whopping $6000. Heh... for that kinda money, I'd rather get myself a beautiful Husky.

Speaking of which, Dan's brother, Elmer, is getting a husky soon. No doubt I'll be popping by more often once he does so... hehe... shamelesss, but regardless, there's gonna be a husky pup! And I love huskies, and puppies! So yeah... my rationale...

sentosa

Went prawning on Sunday night at Bukit Batok Nature Park - silent and dark, the place really did give me the creeps, even though there were 5 of us in total. Didn't help that Kenny had to tell us that scary experience her friend had whilst she was in the park.

Anyways, pretty soon, I overcame the dark with the excitement of catching my very first prawn. I actually managed to pull the prawn out with my hook alone, cos usually we would trap the prawn into a net with the bait. However, I was alone when I pulled the prawn up, and I was so excited I put it on a rock. I wasn't brave enough to try risking a pinch from its claws by picking it up with my bare hands. So I had to watch with disappointment as it ran back into the waters and hid under a rock.

Yelled for Dan but he came too late and once again, we started on catching that prawn again. And we did manage to catch it, this time with the net, so that it won't be able to run off again! Hehe... so happy...

It was soon 1am and since Dan and I were going to Sentosa the next day, we left first.

Sentosa with Weite, Wei Xian, Chen Mei, and Wing, later joined by Irene and her friend Ronnie. It was fun - kayak-ed a little and introduced Chen Mei to kayaking. Haha... quite funny cos she's a newbie at kayaking, so she was quite nervous, scared that the kayak would capsize. But pretty soon she got the hang of it, even though she went through a tiny incident where she kayaked too near to a caucasian family, and she was teased by them.

After which, we played some 'monkey' in the water and played with a frisbee too... quite fun, though all the salt water didn't help with my cold. At the end of the tiring day, we were heading to the loo to shower and as usual, the ladies was packed with people queueing to shower. I think we were in line for almost an hour before we got to shower and the worst thing? We had to wait after we got shower cos it was pouring outside. When the rain lightened to a drizzle, we made our way to the carpark under the cover of our towels and made our way back to Bukit Batok.

And now? I'm nursing a cold so with a heavy head and an aching body, off I go to have my lunch.
