Outing

The outing on Monday was really fun... full of varied emotions as well - anger (albiet fake), fright, elation, and madness. Had a wonderful lunch - thanks to Hakim's recommendation - the crab meat mee. Then had a crazy time wreaking havoc in Toys 'R' Us... then went on to freak ourselves out by watching Arang - you've got mail!- the scariest part of the entire show would have to be the part when Shy and Nuriah jumped up and scrambled away after hearing a loud bang in the room of unknown origins... ooooh spooky. Ok, actually it was more funny than spooky, cos Shy was the one who created the sound by leaning on the sofa, causing it to move and freak out both of them who were closest to the sofa. And the way they scrambled away! Haha! It was like when they came over and Vodka terrorised them. Went crazy with Neoprints after that and headed to Fish & Co for dinner. I had a great time guys - love u all! Muacks!

RIP Dearest Lappie

My loyal laptop for 5 years which has served me well is finally put to rest due to an unresolvable problem of a flickering screen. Tried to save it a couple of times - brought it to the service center but even they said that there's nothing they can do about it and even if I wanted to, it would have been better to get a new one, considering how old it is and how much it would cost me to get it fixed. So I finally backed-up the info, and put it in a pretty box to rest, at least for the moment if not forever. Went shopping with Dan at City Hall - Suntec and Marina Sq. Managed to snag a hilarious buy today, not due to anything, but my itchy hands and my big mouth. We were in novo and they were having this great sale. We were looking at some of the shoes and the sign read - OFFER $2 - $19.90! So we saw this pair of slippers... super platform slippers (3" high) that looked damn weird, but it's Melissa (the rubber shoes brand). So I tried it on and said "If it's $2, I'll get it!" Lo and behold, I turn it around and there's the price - $2. Why can't I be as accurate in guessing 4D and ToTo numbers?

Went for a relaxing massage session again today... 40 min foot and 20 min shoulder and neck... ahhhhh... that's life man... and now we not only have a foot massage package, but also a shoulder and neck one!
Decided to walked Vodka to Dan's mom's place (in Hillview, btw) to deliver her the exact same pair of the aforementioned slippers. Felt like a messenger in the old days... walking everywhere except that instead of riding on a horse, I have an added liability in the form of a pulling dog who drags me around. Oh, Vodky, Vodky Vodky.

Ring Ring!

Prank calls are just so fun, aren't they? They scare the shit out of people receiving them, or cause great confusion, or even elation. Amazing isn't it? How something totally made up can cause such a barrage of emotions from people.

Ms Sheryl Seow, Danny and I were having a boring night with nothing better to do, and also laden with the task of having to inform some peeps about a certain outing on a certain monday. Anyways, we decided to call them using an unfamiliar number to them, and pretended to be someone we're not, placing them in weird ass situations that no one wld like to be in... such as those receiving calls from people of the opposite sex trying to 'get to know them better', or a certain prankee who received a call asking her to come collect an amazing prize - a Suzuki Swift, and then realising that it's fake!

Danny and I did all of the made-up characters, cos we realised that once we passed the phone to Sheryl, her voice immediately gave her away. So, yeah, she's THAT recognisable. I think she'll be one of those people whom others wld say - 'I'll recognise her even if she turns into ashes!' So for the night, Danny became Johnny, who has a thing for sprinters, and Andrew, who loves Red Bull, while I took on the alias of Faz's gf (no gift for guessing who received that call!), Janice from Zouk informing a certain chiongster of her winning a Suzuki Swift, and Melissa who has a crush on a certain 'cool' fella in PESS. Yes, yes, the fun of being able to pretend to be someone u're not, and scare the shit out of others.
On another note, the fun continued the next day for Dan and me as we brought Vodka and QC to Sentosa for a swim. The tide was so high, that when your mama jumped in, there was a tsunami! Ok, no, that's not what I wanted to say but it just seemed like a good opportunity to say that. It was so high, that the Southern most point of SEA had no more coast. It was a direct jump into the water and the poor dogs had to swim for such a long time, with no beach to lay on unless they climbed onto the rocks, or scrambled up to the pavement. The water was so high that the bridge was really just on the surface of the water.

Oh man, the water's freezing!

Yes, you're the retriever, so show of, why don't u?

Yes, I see a rock to rest on! *sprawls*

I'll just roll around in the sand... then Dan will have an extremely hard time washing me later... take that for not bringing me here more often!

All that swimming's got me hungry...

Can I have a treat pls????

How about one now?

Or now? Pretty please?

Ok, dammit, I get it... no treat. Argh...

Dirty, sandy, wet and tired doggie No. 1

Dirty, sandy, wet and tired doggie No. 2

We saw this garbage truck on our way home... notice anything peculiar about it?

How about now? See a certain ninja turtle? I guess Pokemon's more popular now...

Just another day

As it turns out, here I am at home, with nothing to do except watch late night tv and blog, while the happening ones have something planned for the night, or shld i say the wee hours of the day? Really am envious at their close-knittedness and ability to tahan long hours without sleep. Am quite sad that I'm not in their 'circle of trust'. Geez... so out of the loop now, it seems... even got ABANDONED by stupidthingy... haiz... this the life of a married one with a working husband who can't go out till late cos of work the next day, and me with my house-bound responsibilities. If only I could be as crazy as the wacko ones... just let go and let live...

On another note, today wasn't that much of unexcitement. Did cook dinner, albeit rather undelish, and went for a foot massage that left me wanting more. Think the shoulder and back massage seems more appealing... yes, that's life for me... bleh...

Life's Musings

Today marks the last session of softball... it has been fun although it was rather difficult to learn how to play it properly. Gonna miss some of the PGDEs who were in our class as well - they're a fun bunch, definitely. This is prob the last week we'll be seeing the PGDE students, as well as the Diploma students who were enrolled in the same year as us. All of us started out as freshies and now they're graduating while we're only halfway through our course. I'd rather still be in school, definitely, but there's a bit of melancholy in seeing them leave. There'll be less familiar and friendly faces around. PESS will have new faces who are unfamiliar to us. No more saying hi to people wherever we go. We're now the ones others look at and wonder which group we're from, like we did when we saw the degree year 3 and 4 group. We're almost non-existent.

Dr Teo-Koh mentioned something really poignant today. She told us what her secondary school teacher told her - "When you're 60 and sitting on your rocking chair, and if you're saying to yourself, 'I wish I had done that', then you deserve a kick in the butt. Instead, you should be saying 'I wish I can do that again'." That really struck a chord with me, especially with me thinking about life in general recently. Just pondering about how I want to live my life, and how I should find more meaning in it. I used to be passionate about many things, I used to want to do so many things, but now, I don't. Life is rather mundane for me now. But really, rather than spend my time sitting here and lamenting about what I should do with my life, I really should just go and do what I enjoy, and try and enjoy what I do all this while. Easier said than done, I say.

Yoda for sale at IKEA

Look what we found and purchased for ourselves at IKEA! Yoda we bought, we did.

We have no idea why Yoda covers 'her' face and points to her boob... she must be ashamed at her 'assets'...

Merlion Encore

Apparently the Merlion performance was so popular, an encore performance was held tonight. The ever-greedy Vodka was at it again, this time attacking some tissues, plastic box, some stray chocolate coins from yesterday and nian gao that's placed on a rather high cabinet. (At least he didn't eat the foil this time). And as you may know, nian gao is super sticky, so the floor was super duper eeky after that, resulting me in wasting a lot of time and effort in cleaning up. After a short walk, he came back, sat down in the kitchen with difficulty, then gave a few hurling motions, and the performance begins! A whole lump of gloopy, brown digested nian gao came spurting out of his mouth. At least it didn't stink as much and didn't result in Dan puking too.

Just a small portion of the mess that Vodka created... imagine you came home to this mess... 2 days in a row... and you'd know how I feel... argh!

In any case, he left us with a good omen just now. I found it in my trip to the toilet minutes ago... a pile of golden shit (with the golden coin foil stuck in it). HUAT AH!

Nauseating CNY

Gong xi fa cai! Happy Chinese New Year to everyone! For all who think they've eaten too much of CNY goodies and are feeling sick at the moment, here's an entry to comfort you - you are not alone! Our dear friend Mr Vodky AKA Vodka has been helping himself to a spread of CNY goodies while we were out of the house. He had suuuuch a good time that he must have been watching some movies on Mahjong whilst munching on the sofa, leaving behind crumbs and the empty jar as evidence. And what exactly did he eat? Well, not much... just an ENTIRE jar of sesame cookies, a BOXFULL of chocolate coins (with the foil packaging, mind you), and a container FULL of sugar-coated lotus root, water chestnut and coconut slices. He was so bloated when we came back, that his stomach was visibly rounder when he lay down, and he couldn't turn to lie on his back.

Lo and behold, he gets his well-deserved punishment for being so naughty - the greedy boy ended up puking all that he ate, churning out vomit that smelled like Milo, according to Danny. Luckily, I was showering when the Merlion show went on, resulting in only 1 puking human. Yes, my dearie Danny ended up puking his guts out as well (or rather, his Mee Goreng out)! He was so turned off by Vodka's puke that he reciprocated the gesture by running to the toilet to perform an encore of the Merlion. And when I came out, here's what I found with an equally sick looking Danny:

The poor boy was so sick he lay outside the toilet, weak from all the vomiting. He wouldn't even move when I called him over. I guess he was suffering from the after-effects of bingeing.

And after the tiring Merlion performace, he decides to lay in front of the fan and call it a night. However, his human counterpart AKA Danny, is now happily chowing down a big bowl of topshell having puked his dinner out, leaving him empty-stomached and hungry for food... Hopefully Vodka will not have to suffer another weakening symptom of overeating tomorrow - diarrhoea!
