The exams are finally over! Been waiting for this day through the study weeks and exams... and after the gruelling four papers, I've finally gotten what I've been waiting impatiently for! Haven't planned any trips or anything to do in the hols, really... but will be attending a compulsory camp for PE... going to W. Msia for trekking after a 3-day camp in Jalan Bahtera... been having crazy bad thoughts about the camp and falls down cliffs of unknown depths so am a bit worried about the trip... hopefully everything goes well... will have to borrow a bag from my buddy Saiful cos we'll be carrying everything along with us... am really looking forward to the trip, but I do have my reserves... Will be helping out at NAPFA at NYGH... the school is freaking huge and the boarding quarters are beyond belief! Looks like a freaking condo! But it was kinda fun interacting with the students there and seeing their super keen enthusiasm on doing well for the stations... am in charge of standing broad jump with Rosenna... if only all students will be so keen on doing well for their NAPFA... Am looking for kickboxing and yoga classes... should be taking them with Gina and maybe Wendy as well... hopefully we can find a good and cheap class that's convenient for all of us... the idea of this holiday? To get in shape before the next sem when we will be taking 2 sports! And after that, Fitness and Conditioning the sem after... have to be in tip-top condition for that! Probably gonna do some running, hiking, strength training, and hopefully, loads of climbing which I haven't done in AGES! I think I totally lost it lah... will have to try and play some soccer as well cos I'll be taking that next sem... yes, I will be sending myself in for trouble since I can't kick!! I am so not a foot-on person (cos I'm hands-on, gettit?) Have to play some ball as well cos I'm also taking bball next sem... I guess that'll be fun cos then I can concentrate more on my soccer then... hehe... but hopefully, we get a good instructor. Ok, that's about it for now... hopefully will get to enjoy a fruitful holiday this time! To a great holiday! Cheers!

Vodka watching

I've been dog watching Vodka for Dan these past few days... wells, not exactly dog watching, just hanging out at his place in the day whilst he works... his family's out vacationing at Bangkok, so it was just Vodka and me... Woke up early for the past 2 days... 7 plus... brought him out for a early morning walk... something that he hasn't had the luxury of enjoying in a loooong time due to lack of time on Dan's part. Anyways, he looked really sad that day and I decided to sacrifice my sleep for the poor dearie. Walked for about an hour and a half... both of us came back totally beat, him esp what with his thick coat... went all the way to Bukit Batok Nature Reserve and back... but I think he thoroughly enjoyed it, which is why I brought him for a walk again this morning...

It's really refreshing to wake up to see him staring at you, in a sort of loving manner... actually more like a pleading look that beckons you to get out of bed and bring him out... the walk in the morning was nice too... although I hated the fact that this strong fella got me following him around instead, with me having to pull him back with all my might. Plus, the snaps he received from a certain husky that we've met on the way back from our walk, on both days... I tried avoiding tht by having Vodka sit whilst the other husky walks past, but his owner seems unaware that her's is a dominant fella and snaps at Vodka every time he gets a chance to. Really, some dog owners need to understand their dog's behaviour better. I had to pull Vodka away whenever he strikes... and I look up to see the lady smiling at me, as if they were playing happily and not trying to bite off each other's nose.

Somehow I guess there are several pros and cons to owning a dog. Perhaps if one had all the time in the world and didn't have to work, then a dog is ideal, cos you can be assured that he is given the attention he requires. Leaving the poor pup at home alone just isn't that great, esp for him who will be so bored out of his mind that he'd look for things to destroy, just so he'd get your attention, even though it's definitely negative. Like Vodka, he'd purposely pee on the floor instead of the allocated area, just to piss you off. He'd rather suffer a beating than have you ignore him sometimes. It's also good to have a companion when you're home alone. He'd play with you and keep you company... he'd tail you around the house... it's just great to see a friendly face whereever your tread. And one of the best things is to just watch him peacefully sleeping on your lap... which was what Vodka did today. To have a dog willingly close his eyes on your lap and fall into deep slumber means that he trusts in you, and that you have a great bond with him. I was exhilerated when Vodka did that... and just watching him sleep was so gratifying...

Of course, the downside is that you'll have to clean up his poop and pee, and sometimes you have to sacrifice your social life just to ensure that your furkid gets fed on time... going on a holiday requires extra planning too... I guess dogs really bring joy to the owner's life... but the commitment and responsibility that is required, definitely make it a tough job...

Class 95 Dog Walk - 1 April 2007

Monday, April 02, 2007

Had a great day today... Had an early start as Dan and I brought Vodka to Class95 Dog Walk event... saw lots of our fav DJs there... FD, Glenn, Vernetta, Jean and Yaz were all there... they were also talking to us about Vodka, stroking him and all. Dan took pictures with Jean, FD and Vern, together with Vodka of course. Will post them when I have the time...

There were so many people there with their furkids... and not to mention, tons of doggies were at the event too... had such a great time looking and playing with all different breeds of dogs... saw one of my favs, the Shiba Inu today... 2 actually... then there was a black chow chow, a couple of huskies, retrievers, pomeranians, JRT, danes, Germans, labradors, cavalier king charles, malteses... the list just rambles on... it was a really fun event - kudos to Class95 for hosting such a successful dog walk event!

Went on to buy something greatly significant today... still can't believe that we bought it... or rather, he bought it for me... the most expensive gift ever, and probably the one that means the most to me in my life... it's really pretty and I love it loads (though I am worried about how I'm gonna wear it out discretely) without drawing too much unwanted attention to myself... stressful leh...)! Thanks bb... I love you... I had a great 4th Anniversary (and not just because of the gift, but just because I'm with you)...

~Now and forever with you~
