malacca
Back from Malacca on Monday and even though the living conditions weren't what we expected, it was still an enjoyable trip.
Went there with Tong Whye cos they were playing in Malacca with the M'sian teams there. Saw a couple of really good teams and players, both guys and gals. There's a team there, called "da dong fang" which is like, the best team in M'sia with about 6 or 8 national players, I think. Both their guy and gal teams are wonderful. Saw a lot of amazing bball there. Tong Whye lost 2 out of 3 matches though. Managed to see Home United play, both the guys and gals. They managed to put up a good fight, especially the guys' team. Besides watching matches over there, we also went for a bit of shopping and ate most of the other times. Ate in restaurants and also had some lok-lok which is like dipping sticks of food into this satay sauce. Quite interesting but didn't really make up a good meal for me, though they had gigantic prawns for only 50sens. The living conditions were quite bad... we stayed in this 'resort' where 3 couples shared an apartment with 3 rooms, a living room and a kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. The apartment is really old and looks worn out, especially with its faulty air-con with missing 'teeth' in one of the rooms, another one with a fan and no air con, leaving only 1 room with a working air con. So in the end, the 6 of us all shared the same room, pulling all the mattresses from the other rooms into one. Dan and I shared the apartment with Donald, Mag, Wei Tai and Ming Ying. It was fun sharing the room with them, a lot of crap and jokes all round. Well, that's about all for the Malacca trip. Managed to buy a couple of things, watched some amazing bball, had some good food here and there... well, that's about it... haha... |
