Shopaholic

I'm back, and in one piece, might I add. Had a great time in KL, it being my first trip alone. The plane ride was super quick, like I didn't even have time to whip out my Mp3 and fully enjoy 5 songs and we already were preparing for landing.

In fact, it's faster than me taking the bus the school. Amazing! Definitely worth paying a tad more to trade in for the numb butt and aching body from being crammed in a bus seat.
Met up with dear Sonia and Navin finally - wonderfully hospitable people, these 2. They even let me sleep in their room cos for fear that I would return with a bout of dengue if I slept in their living room.

Had great accommodation, great company, great shopping and great food, thanks to them. Remember that it's my turn to return the favour when you guys come over in July! And remember, no wallets!

Shopping in KL at the end of the year is fantastic - all the shops are having sales, some up to as much as 70-80% off! So needless to say, I spent ALL the RM that I brought over, but I'm glad that I did have some sense of self-control by not exceeding my budget after all.

The result? A huge ass bag full of clothes and shoes (5 to be exact - shoeholics rejoice!), and a paper bag's worth of 3 bags. In fact, spent $200+ at DFS, even before I reached KL. Finally bought myself the Escada perfume that I've had my eye on for years. And of course a new fragrance for my poor honey who was busy at work whilst I jetted away for some fun.

I think I've over-shopped myself this time. Crazy hectic akin to the Bangkok experience but better in fact. I love shopping but I seriously doubt I will engage in anymore till I've worn my bag-full of new clothes and shelf-loaded pairs of shoes and carried my hanger-full of bags.

At the airport, dark and early at 3+

The menu ala the airport's info board
Breakfast came w garlic bread

and an awful tasting cup of ILT

The main? An all-right chicken chop with exactly 4 pieces of potato wedges each

Shiny reflective balls!

Here's some early morning shopping at DFS to kick-start my holiday

The rising sun at KLIA LCCT

Why does the sky look so much more amazing in KL?

Heading for Midvalley Megamall - a shopperholic's paradise

Reached Midvalley so early that none of the stores were open so had to have breakfast at Coffeebean.

And here's lunch! Met Sonia finally, who was so sweet that she met me for lunch so that she could take my heavy bag from me so that I could shop with ease. Thanks dear!

It's snowing in M'sia! Well, fake snow in Midvalley, to be exact. Wonder what's in that foam cos my nose started acting up after that. Or perhaps it was the dust from all those clothes in the stores that I rummaged through.

At The Gardens

Check out the urinal look-alike sink

The setting sun marks the end of the first day filled with hectic and crazy shopping

This here is what a don should be like. It's beef cutet don for me. Check out the egg on the rice - it's actually soft boiled and not scrambled like the one we have in S'pore.

Plus, check out the tons of mushrooms and onions stuffed in the fragrant rice!

And here is my fav - flying fish roe sushi

Time for some old-time fav - lunch on the 2nd day

Me and my mugga!

My dawg

Curly fries! Missed these buggers so much had to have them twice during the trip.

Dinner at Asia Cafe on the 2nd day

Sweet and sour crab

Yummy char kuay teow

I love these fried mushrooms! I remember havin them years ago and I've been craving for them since! Still as good!

Here's Son and me

The feast

This here is THE BEST char siew I have EVER had in my life! It literally melts in the mouth!

Hakka mee goes superbly well with the char siew

Shopping at The Curve on the 3rd day

Garlic cheese naan for dinner

Accompanied by some claypot lao shu fen

The view from Sonia and Navin's place. Check out the lake!

Sonia all decked out in her new clothes

And finally, one of us 3 to mark the end of the trip. Thanks again you guys for EVERYTHING! See you guys soon! Love ya!
