shopping
I love shopping with my mom-in-law. Seriously. If you've seen her before, you shld know she's the trendy sort and doesn't favour aunty-style. She's into designer bags and knows tons about fashion and make-up, coupled with great tips to share. Shopping with her is another experience, cos I've never been into an LV shop before yesterday, much less seen someone spend enough money to sustain me for 10 months on a bag. But seriously, it is a superbly beautiful bag. If you know me, you should know I'm not one for designer garbs. But this one bag, it's so gorgeous! I was really fascinated by it and just looking at it makes you feel like touching it. Ahhh... the allure of it!
Apparently, it's the only one left in Singapore - it's white with LV logos imprinted all over. But it doesn't look like the common LV bags with the monograms tht u see a lot of people carrying . It's really one of a kind - and guess which extremely fashionable Hollywood celebrity carries it? Sarah freaking Jessica Parker! Seriously, imagine having a bag that a Hollywood actress as famous as her owns. In this pic, it's not the exact same bag, but it's of the same line, and it looks pretty much the same just that the straps are different. If I was filthy rich and would want to buy a designer bag, I would buy that without a thought - no qualms about it. By the way, it's priced at $4390, before GST. Just an hour or so before that I was painfully contemplating buying a bra, a basic neccessity, which costs $65. And after that, seeing how Dan's mom barely winced when buying a bag at that price, and a belt for $560, I seriously think that my purchase was nothing worth pondering about. But then again, considering our financial status, we're really from different planets. I never knew a life as luxurious as this - dinners that can cost up to $1000, food as expensive and scrumptious as Alaskan King Crabs or Geoduck or sea mantis (previously, I seriously thought that mud crabs were the only crabs that exist for consumption purposes, and even that was a treat), and bags that cost up to $5000. I'm thankful for the opportunity to be able to experience such delightful treats because of my relation to Danny. And even though I can't sustain a life of luxury like theirs, it's nice to be exposed to glimpses of their lives once in a while. It's like a field trip into someone else's life. |
