Packing and Moving... School and all that jazz...
Haven't updated in a while... yes, partly due to sch reopening, but previously I've been really busy with helping the in-laws move to their new abode. Good practice for when my turn arrives, I think. Also, managed to bag a new wardrobe full of clothes from my mom-in-law. And she's a hip mommy, so her clothes are actually rather nice, and she's about the same size as me. Yes, we are talking about Dan's mom her, although I have no idea how old she is exactly.
School has been fun so far - taking basketball and netball lessons at the mo - a great opportunity for me to develop my ball sense. Have been playing bball for a while in the past and have never done anything so basic during all the trainings, so I think an enforcement on the basics would be really good for someone like me. Am thinking of joining Weite's team in the women's open... but dunno if he'll welcome me, and more importantly, whether his team will welcome me. I no none of his players, and they are much younger than myself, so that may be a prob. Plus, Weite's out with a torn calf muscle, so it'll be a while till he gets back into the action of things. Vodka's staying at a boarding home now. Actually, it's at a pet shop but he gets to come out and run with the owner's dogs. It's really sad when we visit him, although we feel more at ease seeing him sometimes. He howls and cries for us once we enter. He paws at the cage, begging for us to release him and bring him home. Makes me feel super sad... cos it feels as if he thinks we've disowned him. But of course, that's not it - we'll be bringing u home soon, Vodky... hang on in there... Had the best pepper crab I've ever had as well. It's at this discrete old coffee shop in Joo Chiat, I think. It's called First Grade Seafood Palace, or something close to that. The pepper sauce is really nice! Plus, you know a place is really good when there's people there at 4pm eating crabs. Dinner or lunch, I have no idea. Perhaps just a very filling tea. Anyways, the place was crowded with people queueing up outside the coffeeshop at 5 plus. And the best of all, the crates (and I mean more than 10 of those big styrofoam boxes u see in fish markets) worth of crabs are sold out before 8pm. There's also a whole factory of people behind the scenes killing and cooking the crabs. When u head to the back to wash your hands, you'll be greeted with the sight of about 5 people chopping up almost hundred crabs, and you'll find yourself facing the chefs who are constantly cooking their famous black pepper crab. Give it a try if u ever come across it. |
