dog cafe

Yesterday was a long day out for Vodka. Brought him to Sentosa in the morning for an early dip in the sea. Sentosa in the morning is so much better... less crowded, less noise, a gentler sun, and less tiring. It's a great way to start the day off, actually. Went over to the smaller island across the bridge from Palawan Beach, and we had the entire stretch to ourselves! Vodka was so excited at being back there again after being MIA for so long, that he didn't need any persuation, like he needed i the past, to jump right into the water. So proud of him. He's finally learnt to love the water without fear. He even ventured out further than he used to, without us even having to coax him. Pehaps like Dan said, he's a big boy now.

Spent about an hour there before going off to meet Derence at Batok, then bringing Vodksy back for a shower. We whisked him out once again before he even had time to rest, bringing him to a dog cafe in Serangoon- Dogoholics. It's at 519 Serangoon Road and it's quite a nice place, though the food is rather tasteless, cos it's catered for your furkids as well. Saw this tiny Yorkshire Terrier there though, and it's so small! It looked so adorable with a tiny black ribbon on its head, plus, she's so friendly and approached us, and even Vodka, who looked like a giant next to the tiny tot. The owners of the cafe adopted an abandoned Labrador Retriever, and he's so well-behaved, though he does carry a sad look on his face. I guess it's lucky that peole as kind-hearted as them have taken him into their care.

They are also housing 2 puppies, mixed breed, both merely a month old. Both were also found untended and were brought home by an uncle. However, his wife threatened to throw the 2 darlings away so he had no choice but to give them away, which is how they ended up in the cafe eventually. The pups are so adorable that I couldn't bear leaving them when we had to go. Hugged the cuties after they just awoke from their slumber, both blur-faced. The female actually peed on me soon after I carried her over from the cafe owner's arms. Dan says it's cos she feels comfortable in my arms, though I'd say it's more of an unfortunate timing. Have pictures of them and will post them in the pics section soon. Anyone keen to adopt please do drop by the cafe.

Seeing all these abandoned dogs, I think that when I am ready for my own dog, I would go for an adopted one, instead of purchasing one from the stores. These poor abandoned dogs have no one to care for them, waiting for someone to bring them home and to love and care for them. Of course finding the right dog is important too as well. I guess it's a matter of matching personalities and of having both parties liking each other. It's never a good idea to rush into obtaining a pet, without prior knowledge to the committments and effort you are willing to spend on it. Speaking of this, I think I really should spend more time with my hamsters.

Oh, carrying on with Vodka's day out... went to West Coast Dog Run after that and didn't spend too much time there, cos the place was really muddy. White dogs were turning brown there, so we decided to cut his outing short.

And as for today, our dear Vodka came into the room and jumped onto bed with me, snuggling next to me, before being chased off by Dan. In fact, he jumped on several times to lick us and to snuggle in bed with us. He's gonna have another fun-filled day today, cos we're bringing him to a poochie-party later. Hopefully it will be a good one and he returns a tired-out and less-energetic pup, for the benefit of his owners.
