First Aid

An update on my purchases from BKK... actually went to count the items that I bought... hehe... nothing better to do, ya... so here's the final numbers:

18 shorts
2 skirts
1 3/4 pants
14 tops
9 t-shirts
2 belts
4 bags
2 bikinis
1 pair of wedges
1 pair of leather slippers
4 'magic' cardholders

Yeah, so that's where my $500 went to... and of course, to food, glorious food as well... so glad that we managed to have the bird's nest and shark's fin soup there... so yummy! Plus, we also tried those fried bugs... I tried one... dunno what it is but I only know that it has wingsand kinda looks like a giant mosquito... it's crunchy and doesn't taste that bad, but the after chewing it up, it kinda leaves bits and pieces of wings, legs and all in your mouth, so that was a bit icky... Dan actually popped a couple in his mouth, saying that it's actually quite nice... eeek...

Went through the first aid course for the past 3 days, and glad to say that we all passed and are now certified first aiders! Somehow, even with the cert, I don't think I'm all up for going out and saving lives just as yet... it's one thing to know and practice on the dolls, but I think to have to actually do it on a human, that would really be weird... The course was fun though, cos our instructor was really funny - he looks like a skinnier Adrian Pang, and he even talks and is as animated as he is. He used to be a lifeguard, which prob explains his fitness, even though he's (we think) about 40 plus, though he doesn't look a day over 30. We arrived at this age cos he mentioned that he actually survived a 2000 feet free fall (cos his parachute malfuntioned - but he forgot that he had a spare that he could have opened and saved him from the panic and subsequent injury) when he was in NS, in 1980. Well, you do the math. But his story was pretty amazing... though a bit unbelieveable... how can someone survive such a fall? He sustained a back injury from that though... but he's still walking and jumping around so I guess that was a miracle.

Will be busy busy this coming week, with the FIBA games starting... I will be taking Indonesia. It should be really fun, plus I get to watch talented youths play in bball... should be really amazing. My GESL proj is supposed to be carried out this Thurs as well, so yeah, I guess I'll really be very busy this week. Both will clash though, so I dunno how I can work this out... hopefully it all goes well...

Well, will post the pics from BKK soon... :P
