spooky dreams

Speaking of spooky dreams, here's another one I experienced recently. I dreamt that my new spects (those half-frame type) had cracks on the parts where the frame held the lens. And when I woke up that day, guess what?

No, my spects did not crack (thankfully!) but when I went to put on my contact lens, I felt a pain in my right eye after putting the lens in. I took out the lens and there was a crack on the contact lens! Plus, it was the first time I even had my lens crack or split. Gee... scary...

Went to ACS (Barker) today for the Citibank-YMCA Youth for Causes 2005 prize presentation. Dr Vivian Balakrishnan was there as well. He's a great speaker actually. He can give a speech without having to look at the written notes and his points are poignant and meaningful too. Really enjoy listening to his speak; plus, he does has a good voice as well.

Glenda Chong was present at the event as well. I noticed her even before she took her seat, but I didn't recognise her then. I was thinking, "Wow, who's this lady? She's so slim and svelte, and so pretty, even though she was adorned in a simple pair of drawstring white pants and a gray long-sleeved top with a white spag/tube inside. And her smile, wow, so stunning and so pretty!" I guess stars really have the x-factor that emits from them oh-so-obviously, the aura that instantly makes people turn their attention to them. She wasn't wearing any make-up, just like Sharon Au when we met her. Perhaps artistes don't like to wear that much make-up, especially when they have to constantly put on so much thick makeup for their job. Makes sense.

One of the participanting group of the event was this group of wheelchair basketball players. I managed to speak to one of them and made a donation for their cause as well. He told me how they have to make their way to a public court to train and how inconvenient it is for them. Plus, it also deprives the public from playing there as well. So they have come up with an idea to build a basketball court nearer to the Handicaps Welfare Association.

I learnt from the guy that they actually play at a normal sized court, height and all. It must be very tough for them though, having to shoot so high. It's already so tough having to shoot while standing. Imagine shooting while seated - so much arm strength needed! Gee... really inspired me with their keeness on playing sports even though they're physically challenged. Amazing spirit...
