so full!

Went shopping on Sunday with Dan. Finally, a day when Dan gives up bball to go shopping with me, to spend time with me to say the least. Was so happy on that day. Plus, had a pleasant surprise when Ai Way and Charles suddenly popped up. Yes, Ai Way's back from Aussie! Haha... shopped around while the guys tagged along. Bought 2 new tops for CNY! One's a jacket and another's a pink knit top. Looking forward to buying more, esp when I go to KL! Yes, my leave has been approved so KL, here I come!

Oh, back to Sunday. After an entire day of shopping, we went to Newton Circus for dinner. As the old food centre was still under renovation, we have to manouvre over to the temporary one where to much touting was taking place! They'd have someone from the store sitting at an empty table (the popular and cooler seats outside of the food centre) and they'll promote their food to you while you walk past looking for a table. Despicable... but oh so clever.

Had so much food... kinda felt like how I feel now - so blardy full! I think I'm abt to explode from my heavy dinner earlier on. But the food was so good, who could blame me for taking so much? Haha... plus there were my fav dishes - my mom's cream of the crop dishes: (crudely translated) yellow ginger chicken, pork chop in tomato sauce, and my fav (what some pple call 'ABC soup') potato and vege soup! Ah... my lovelies! Too bad I had to fight with others for the food... haha... my bro and his gf. Too bad Dan was not here to help me fight for the food. Hahaha!

Baked cookies the day before. Dan and Weite came over to my place. We also cooked pasta for dinner. Yummy but so expensive! Even though it was DIY, it still cost about $7 per pax! Yeowch!

Cookie baking was fun, and so much easier with my new oven, donated by Dan's mom. Haha... But tragedy did strike as I burnt my fingers while baking the first batch. Here's what happened:

I took out the first batch of cookies with the tongs, then the grill then the cookies at the bottom. Then as I was putting in the grill once again, I forgot that it was hot since it was placed outside and I used my bare hands to hold the grill. I didn't even feel the heat till I heard the sizzling of my meat on the grill. Then I looked at Dan and my mom who were in the kitchen with me, wide-eyed. I opened my mouth and a tiny "Ouch" escaped my lips. My mom then went to get some power ointment. (I call it power ointment cos only 1 of the burnt spots blistered whilst the other spots healed within 1 day!) Well, it's actually nut meg oil; try it if, unfortunately, you get a burn one day too. One thing I've learnt - never ever put ur burnt skin under cold water! The blister will appear immediately.

Anyways, despite the burnt finger and immense pain, a lovely batch of cookies was produced, thanks to Dan and Weite who persisted on with the baking.

And cos of my injury, I can't climb tmr! Oh man... to break a 5 or 6 week streak... gee... so sad! But no worries, as the Chinese pronoun goes: to rest is to prepare a longer journey (xiu[1] xi[2] shi[4] wei[4] le[4] yao[4] zhou[3] geng[4] yao[2] yuan[3] de[4] lu[4])! I shall look forward to next week's climb instead...
