chinatown & commando

Had a chat with Brendan today on MSN. He told me more about podcasting and about Podeejay - sounds real interesting. Plus, he's going to make some changes and revamp it. Do check it out! I can't seem to enter the new website though, cos it's been redirected. Will post the webbie once I get it.

A commando came into SWAMI today. In Dec, the whole home will be swamped with 80 commandos. Haha. They're coming to do some community service and interact with the elderly and all. Should be interesting; plus it's half a day out of the office and spent outside with the volunteers, my favourite. Yipee!

Went down to Chinatown after work to meet Dan. Had dinner at his Dad's workplace, an eatery. Great hor fun - but due to the black bean or black pepper can't seem to figure it out), we helped each other remove bits of the food from each other's teeth after the meal. Haha... Plus, had my fav chicken feet! hehe... yummy...

Went shopping in the area after that - went to OG (or Old Girl, according to Dan) and the street stalls. Saw a bag in OG tht I really like. But I'll be going to KL to search for a bag too, and if I can't find anything, I'll prob come back to get it.

Went for a snack after the shopping - the old market food centre. Had some not-so-nice ah balling and not-too-bad yam cake. Then went on to this pet shop near the food centre. Saw this really nice fish tank with pump and light, but it's about $50+ for a tank abt the size of half a Nike shoebox.

Then they had some guppies (really nice colours) and prawns in it and some coloured stones placed at the base, with some coral look-a-like rocks to the back of the tank. Looks great but after the deaths of my terrapins, I've been a bit reluctant to take on a new pet since. Plus, I felt so depressed seeing so many dead or half-dead fish in the shop. So sad! Such beautiful creatures dead, or about to die. They really should remove the deceased fish asap so that it won't affect the customers that much.

There's this goldfish in there that doesn't have a left eye. Not sure about the right side though cos didn't get to see it's other side. So poor thing. Pet shops should really take responsibility for the lives in their hands.

Still disturbed by the images that are still swimming in my head... argh... hope I don't get nightmares tonight.
