7-11 cup and more

Watched the 7-11 cup on Saturday... Quite interesting and exciting games on the opening day - BBAXN All Stars vs Home United. I was rooting for Home U, what with their mainly local and extremely skilled players... BBAXN consisted mostly of Caucasians actually... It's really quite interesting how sports can draw people to become more patriotic.

Anyways, BBAXN won in a tough fight against Home U. And the only rationale I have for that? They won because of their height advantage. A major height difference, might I add. The lack of rebounds set Home U back. But they managed to hang on tightly and only lost by 2 or 3 points. Amazing team...

Oh, Dan was supposed to play tht night - Tong Whye was playing against the Philippines team, but their opponent came late for the game, so it was a walkover. An easy 20-point win for Tong Whye then. Lucky them.

The next exciting match scheduled for the night was SAFSA vs Eng Tat Hornets. I've actually always been a supporter of Eng Tat... one of my fav bball players are in the team- Da Kang! He used to be a superman on the court, doing everything - from rebounds, to fast breaks, to killing the opponents in the paint. But I guess he's kinda toned down since then, and isn't tht much of a superman anymore. But he's still one of my favs. :{P

Anyways, Alan was playing for SAFSA... another one of my fav players :{P Can't let him know that though. His head would bloat soooooo huge. Haha! Well, he is one of the better controllers I know. Anyways, another of my fav is in SAFSA as well - the superspeed Ah Liang. Within the first few minutes, or seconds perhaps, of the match, he managed to to pull off an amazing steal. He was so fast that Weite's comment when he saw Ah Liang going for a fast break was "Wah! He was so fast I didn't even see him make the steal!" It's true though - it was a 'blink-and-miss-you'll-miss-it' moment.

The final result? SAFSA won by about 10 points.

On Monday, I received a phone call at work that distressed me quite a lot. It was an immediate job offer for AP... but it was a project-based job and it was an immediate opening. Knowing that opportunity is knocking yet I am unable to answer it and grab it... it was such a painful experience. But knowing how I can't take on this job, I had to let it go, reluctantly. I did email the person my resume though and expressed my keen interest in future opportunities. I hope that move has paid off though... haiz...

My colleague whom I mentioned the dilemma to told me not to be so stressed over that as she once heard that one's immunity level drops by 80% when stressed or upset. I was a bit skeptical at first, but by late afternoon, I was a believer.

My whole body started aching and I was shivering in the cold. I really fell sick then. Went to see a doctor and got a MC for the next day. Stayed home on Tues, and it was such a great feeling to be able to stay home on a weekday. I missed that feeling sooooo much. Kinda reminded me of how I used to stay home on days when I didn't have to go school. I really miss school!

Dan came over later and spent the day napping on my matress. Haha! But I did appreciate him coming over though... so sweet of him.

Well, just a few days and I'll be off in KL! Really can't wait for that trip! Hope it all goes well then. I really need a break. Time to think about what I really wanna do.
