ROM

Came back not long ago from Dan's friend's wedding... well, registration of marriage,to be exact... at the ROM... it's his secondary school friend... called James... it was quite an eye-opener cos i've never seen an actual marriage registration... there were so many couples and so many photo-taking sessions...

Had to queue and wait till his turn and it was quite fun... haha... Dan and I were looking at these old marriage certs and all, laughing and joking... then it was time to go into the room for the erm, ceremony? Anyways, the room was quite nice... they got the 'cherish' room... there are 3 rooms there... 'JOY' (hehe... Junhong...), 'Cherish' and 'Love'... small but nicely furnished rooms... that's where the couple exchanges vows and be pronounced husband and wife... a very sweet ceremony... nearly cried even though i dun really know them much... haha... it was just so sweet...

Anyway, James kinda made a few boo-boos that got us all laughing... he's so funny... they were supposed to follow the, erm, minister?, in saying something... i think the marriage vow or something... and they were supposed to look at each other while saying this... James went and looked at the minister and he was like, 'Look at each other pls'... we all just cracked up... at the end of the vow, the minister then said, 'Pls take each others' hands' and James did a cross-handed thing... then he realised it was wrong so he changed immediately, but not before we got a few laughs again though... haha... and during the exchange of rings, the bride put on the ring for him and she pushed it halfway through... i think she had a little difficulty putting it on for him, so he just slid the ring in himself quickly... quite hilarious, the way he did it...

As expected, he asked Dan when it would be our turn... haha... it looks real fun actually... wearing the gown and all, but the ceremony seems to be a little too... i dunno... all it does is give u a cert that certifies your marriage and even though it is the most important ceremony in getting married, yet it seems so insignificant, to me at least, cos it's just obtaining a piece of paper... call me a traditionalist, but i think a couple can only be truly married after going through all the tea-ceremonies, church ceremony and wedding banquet... i dunno why too... haha... it just seems more like a wedding that way... much more ceremonial and celebratary, don't you think?

Going to play bball later at 755 again... wonder how i'll play this time... hmmm... :P
