the dog and the ball
Woke up with a sudden urge to beat the bulge - so cloudy and early at 9am, I decided to bring my darling furkid for a jog at the park. It does feel good to get going so early in the day :) Wish I had the discipline to continue doing so.
My beautiful happy girl after a great panting workout See what endorphins can do to you? My beautiful Kino - had to coerce her to take this pic with me. I think she hates me. Or the camera. Sure hope it's the latter. Playful look Tired and wary look Looks like a nice little cottage in the middle of nowhere eh? Took it in the car ride on the way to watch Dan's match. I like it cos it looks so peaceful and country-ish. And here's the tip-off! Dan doing his best to defend. Out-manned with only 6 on the team, the guys really did fight hard and tough. Great job!

smile at fear
Our fear is what holds us back - fear of misrepresentation, fear of rejection, fear of failure.
I tried smiling non-stop for the bus ride home cos I remembered someone whom I met who was always so smiley. It's really refreshing to see her and you'd be influenced by it and want to smile too. Plus they say smiling uses less muscles than frowning thus should be more relaxing and natural. That and I met a man with such a grumpy and frumpy face - his face literally pulls down at the mouth to his chin, kinda like those grumpy cartoon characters we see on TV. Or a bulldog. I once read that you'd make yourself feel depressed and bring bad stuff onto yourself by just expressing it - slouched body and frown complete. Sure enough, the guy on the bus seemed to draw bad things to himself too (at least from what I could see on the bus ride). The bus driver forgot to stop at his stop and went on to drop him off at the next stop instead. And it was raining. I guess a smile beats away feelings of stress and irritation. Smile and the world will smile with you. :)

a dog's life
3 times up and down Balestier Road later, we finally found the Urban Pooch where Justin and Peiling were waiting with the birthday doggies.
Smothered to death The happy birthday boy The greedy girl who couldn't stop eating - she even went over to beg at the other customer's table - super embarrassing.

the 1000th post
When it rains, it doesn't just drizzle - it pours.
I'm just a driftwood, carried away by the flood. Alone and dying, yet no one can help or rescue me.

hanging out with the bro
A very fulfilling dinner and tiring day of shopping, followed by another.
Dinner at the much acclaimed Paulaner. Ready to tuck in to his crispy pork knuckle. Crispy pork knuckle while I tuck into my boiled pork knuckle In the hot seat And the white flag's up! Totally couldn't finish the knuckle - it's just too much meat! Here's a glimpse of the leftover meat - pinkish pork. Tender and succulent, but too much is just too much!

in his absence
Dan's in reservist so I've gotten myself a new bed-partner. Someone much cuter, younger and furrier. And she's making herself VERY comfortable on the bed... and my pillow.
I just went over to the table for a while and I returned to this scene - a very comfy Kino on MY pillow.

let it go
Let go of the small stuff, it's all small stuff, let it go...
I clean the house that others (and myself) constantly mess up. It's a fact of life - just gotta deal. If anyone ever says to my face that it's a woman's job to clean up, I will personally slap him. And I say 'him' cos only a guy would say so. |
